Customer Service / Warranty Specialist

Location: Austin, Texas

Salary: $35,000 - 65,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a Customer Service & Warranty Representative to support homeowners throughout the construction and warranty phases of their projects. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding construction timelines, warranty claims, and general questions related to their homes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for communicating updates, evaluating potential construction issues, coordinating inspections, and ensuring customer concerns are resolved professionally and efficiently.

This role requires someone who can balance customer service with practical construction awareness, ensuring legitimate issues are addressed while protecting the company from unnecessary warranty claims.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Communication

  • Serve as the primary contact for homeowners regarding construction updates and warranty concerns

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding project timelines, repairs, and construction details

  • Provide clear and timely communication to maintain positive client relationships

Warranty & Issue Management

  • Receive and document warranty requests from homeowners

  • Inspect or coordinate inspections of reported issues to determine responsibility

  • Determine whether issues fall within warranty coverage or homeowner maintenance

  • Coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to resolve approved warranty items

Field Meetings

  • Meet with homeowners at project sites or completed homes to review concerns

  • Conduct walkthroughs to evaluate potential construction defects or warranty items

  • Document findings and coordinate next steps for resolution

Coordination with Construction Team

  • Work closely with project managers and subcontractors to schedule repairs

  • Track warranty claims and ensure timely resolution

  • Maintain records of warranty issues and service history for each project

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of customer communication and warranty claims

  • Track service timelines and ensure issues are resolved efficiently

  • Provide management with regular updates regarding service requests and trends

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years experience in customer service, construction coordination, or warranty management

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple service requests simultaneously

  • Basic understanding of residential construction processes

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Preferred

  • Experience working with homebuilders or construction companies

  • Familiarity with residential construction components (roofing, framing, drywall, HVAC, etc.)

  • Experience managing warranty claims or service requests
